Smith, Eugene M. “Smitty”, 75, Tyrone, passed away January 18, 2022. Born May 8, 1946, Burnt Cabins, son of the late Clarence J. and Maxine (McMullen) Smith. Survived by children, Shyla, Eugene, Charles R., Mike, and David S. Smith; 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Nancy Smith, Linda Smith, Marietta Smith, Helen Hockenberry, Charlesetta Morgan, Maxine Smith Kidd, Richard Smith, Clifford Smith, and John Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Clarence J. Smith. Smitty served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Mapleton American Legion, Blue Juniata VFW 5754, Mount Union American Legion, Mill Creek Firehall and Huntingdon American Legion. Most of all Eugene loved to spend time with his family and friends. Friends and family will be received on Friday January 21, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday January 22, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, Joseph Barrett, officiant. Interment to follow at Salem Cemetery, Tell Township. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™.” Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
