Mr. Eugene Wimberly transitioned on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. A veteran truck driver for many years, God finally told him to "park the truck, turn in the keys, and come home."
He was born on May 7, 1961, to Mr. Bob and Laura (Bush) Wimberly, Sr. Eugene knew America's roads better than any map. He safely covered millions of miles-a testament to his dedication and skill. His life on the highway was a journey he loved, allowing him to see the country's beauty and meet countless people along
the way.
He was known for his generous spirit, wonderful sense of humor,and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; son, Victor Terrez Wimberly, and brother, Bob Wimberly, Jr.
He is survived by his devoted and caring soulmate, Freddie Lee Williams; children whom he adored so much, Shannon Wimberly and Frederick Williams; supportive siblings: one brother, Frank (Margaret) Wimberly, Sr. of Waynesboro, Georgia; six sisters, Bobbie Jean Patterson and Lauretha Brown both of Augusta, Georgia, Betty (Melvin) Streetman of Keysville, Georgia, Florence (John) Burton and Marjorie Brown, both of Waynesboro, Georgia,
Erica (Chris) Gibson of Hephzibah, Georgia; one uncle, Alvin (Willie Mae) Wimberly of Waynesboro, Georgia; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Wimberly of Waynesboro, Georgia; The Hilton Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
