Eula Henley Perry

Eula "Duck" Henley Perry, age 83, passed away on January 26, 2026. She was born May 27, 1942, in Johnston County, to the late John C. Henley and Nova Creech Henley.

When she was little, her daddy nicknamed her "Duck": because she waddled when she walked. For the next 81 years, she was "Duck" or "Aunt Duck". She was an avid Elvis fan, but wouldn't turn away the opportunity to listen to Conway Twitty or Ronnie Milsap. She drove a car that automatically would turn into Krispy Kreme (especially if the hot light was on) and she should have owned stock in QVC.

With over 20 years of service, she retired from the Wake County School System, where she loved on "her" kids and made many wonderful friends through the years. She especially had a heart for children with special needs and spent several years driving a school bus for exceptional children.

Eula is survived by her son, Ryan Perry (Joann); grandchildren: Ryan Austin Perry, Heather Thomas (Ben); brothers: Ben Henley (Cheri), Gary Henley (Debbie); sisters: Joan H. Averette, Peggy H. Cox (Hoyt); sister-in-law, Susie Henley; aunt, Clara "Tootsie" Donahoe; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Eula was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Perry; brother, Curtis Henley.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. A private burial will be held at Greenmount Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tim Tebow Foundation.
