Eula Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services - New Haven on Feb. 6, 2026.
Eula Wright, a cherished matriarch and beacon of faith, completed her earthly journey on February 4, 2026, in New Britain, CT. Born on April 6, 1939, in the lush hills of Westmoreland, Jamaica, to the late Urcella and Theodore Wright, Eula was the seventh child of eleven siblings. Her life was a testament to the strength and love that emanated from her large, vibrant family.

Eula's journey led her from the warm Caribbean breezes of her youth to the diverse landscapes of the United States, where she became a respected live-in domestic helper taking care of the elderly. Her dedication to her profession was paralleled only by her commitment to her faith. A devout Christian, Eula lived her beliefs through her actions, her words, and the melodious hymns she sang with a joyful heart.

Eula's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, kindness, and generosity. She was the proud mother of six children, who became the central focus of her nurturing spirit. She is lovingly remembered by Audley Hamilton of Spanish Town, Jamaica; Carlton Thomas of Orlando, FL; Brendalea (Andrew) Hamilton-Jackson of West Haven, CT; Delories Hamilton of Washington, D.C. and cherished in memory by her late children, Neville Hamilton and Ionie Gray. Eula's legacy continues through her grandchildren Kelvin Kelly, Chavis Thomlinson, Kabian Williamson, Ricky Williamson, Lushanna Hamilton, Abagale Hamilton, Chantel Hamilton, Ushane Hamilton, Anthony Hamilton, Delvin Grant, Tishana Brown, Ronald Thomas, Rihanna Thomas, and Shavon Kelly (deceased), who will carry forward the wisdom and love she imparted.

Those who knew Eula will recall a woman whose presence was as comforting as the gentlest breeze. Her love for walking allowed her to explore and appreciate the beauty of God's creation, while her adoration for all colors mirrored the diversity and vibrancy of life she celebrated every day. A fan of Bob Marley, she found joy and inspiration in his music that transcended the rhythm and spoke to the soul.

Eula Wright lived by the words, "Yes, Jesus," a simple yet profound affirmation of her unwavering faith. She was a pillar in her community, a friend to all, and a stranger to none. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her loving nature enveloped those around her like a warm embrace. She was indeed faith-filled, her spirit generous, and her heart ever loving.

As we bid farewell to Eula Wright, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed with grace. Her life was a living example of the Christian virtues she held dear, and her memory will continue to guide and inspire us. Though she has departed from our sight, her spirit remains a guiding light, illuminating the path to kindness, compassion, and love for all who had the blessing to know her.

Eula was such a beautiful spirit and truly a joy to be around. Although I did not know her for a long time, she was always so kind and warm to me during our time together in recreation. Her smile and gentle presence brought light to those around her, and she will be deeply missed. I am grateful to have shared moments with her and to have witnessed her kindness. My thoughts are with everyone who loved her.
