Eunice Leta Burd

Eunice Leta Burd, age 91, of Gentry, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2025, at her home. She was born August 11, 1934, in Syracuse, Nebraska, to George Tonsing and Agnes (Karspeck) Tonsing. Mrs. Burd moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1982 after moving from Colorado. Eunice married Melvin Richard Burd on November 9, 1952, in Burlington, Colorado. Mrs. Burd enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, raising chickens, playing cards with her church friends, and most of all, her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Richard Burd; her mother, Agnes (Karspeck) Tonsing; her father, George Tonsing; her grandson, Wyatt Edgar; two brothers, Loren and Dean Tonsing.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Landreth of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Denise Cripps of Gentry, Arkansas; two sons, Kevin Burd of Wellsville, Kansas, and Joel Burd and his wife, Dawn, of Berthoud, Colorado; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Decatur Assembly of God Church in Decatur, Arkansas officiated by Bill and Kirk Anderson.
