Eunice (Salve) Langness "Chicku", age 47, of
Colorado Springs, Colorado went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 11, 2025 at home, surrounded by her family.
Eunice was born to David and Shama Salve on December 16,1977 in Miraj, Maharashtra, India. She was the youngest of three children with an older brother and sister.
She was given the nickname "Chicku" by her brother, naming her after a sweet Indian fruit. Chicku was shy as a child, known to hide behind her mom's saree when guests came over. She never left her mom's side and eventually people called her her mom's tail, because she wasn't more than an inch away from her mom at all times.
Her parents were believers in Jesus Christ and decided to pursue a life of ministry full time when she was just three years old, which set the passion of her life. She put her trust in the Lord Jesus at a young age and grew up learning to trust the Lord for His provision for their family. She was known to be found praying in her bed in the middle of the night, not even allowing her mom to disturb her time with God.
Growing up in Pune, India, her early memories were filled with fondness of the experiences she had with her nine cousins. She often spoke of her time with them after she came to the United States.
At 21 years old, her brother Sunil settled in Colorado Springs and in 1997, Eunice, her sister Dorothy and their parents came from India to join Sunil. She soon started attending Northeast Bible Chapel where she enjoyed serving the Lord in any way she could, especially in the children's area and attending the Ladies Bible Study Coffee Hour.
Her love for the Bible led her to Emmaus Bible College where she received her Bachelors of Science in Biblical Studies in 2003. Upon her graduation, she returned to Colorado Springs where she began caregiving for Fred and Marty Fletemeyer, while living with her brother and sister-in-law.
Sunil married Amy Swanson and as their family grew, she lived with them and cherished the role of being an aunt, taking her little nieces everywhere with her. They were her "sidekicks."
In 2006, Micah's father Kerry approached David regarding a "proposal" of marriage between their two children. That became a reality in 2007 when Eunice married Micah Langness. She loved being Micah's wife and desired to fulfill her dream of growing her family. Esha Faith Langness was born on the first day of 2009, famously becoming the first baby of the New Year. Eunice loved being able to stay at home and care for Esha along with all their furry family members, well known for being her favorites.
Eunice enjoyed crafting, cooking a variety of foods, praying for those she loved and shopping while negotiating for the best deal. She was a visionary who in the few quiet moments that she had would develop grand plans and great ideas she would someday want to implement. She loved to travel and looked forward to creating memories up in the mountains in their camper, enjoying the quiet time with her family. She somehow found a way to make even American burgers and Mexican tacos have an Indian flavor.
Eunice's primary focus was to raise Esha to love and serve the Lord. She also prioritized time with each of her 11 nieces and nephews and cared deeply for each of them, intentionally asking about them individually and praying for them daily. This love was demonstrated in her last conversation, where in talking with one of her nieces, Eunice asked whether she had packed a healthy lunch and requested that she drive safely in the snowy conditions.
She is survived by her husband, Micah Langness and their daughter, Esha. Her father and his wife, David and Sandhya Salve; her mother-in-law, Patricia Langness; her brother Sunil (Amy) Salve and their children, Anjali, Alayna, Annelise and Simeon; her sister, Dorothy (Enos) Daniel and their children, Isaac, Shireen and Nazrene; her brother-in-law, Phillip (Amy) Langness and their children, Christian and Gabriella; her brother-in-law, Aaron (Emily) Langness and their children, Noah and Breven, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in India & America and friends all around the world.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Shama Salve and her father-in-law, Kerry Langness.
For those considering making contributions in Eunice's memory, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests giving to the general fund for CMML, Inc. (Christian Missions in Many Lands), PO Box 13, Spring Lake, NJ 07762-0013 or https://www.cmml.us/waystogive
