Eunice Rasmussen

Salina, Utah - On the morning of December 22, 2025 a beautiful reunion took place Heaven-side as our beloved Eunice A. Rasmussen slipped peacefully from this earth and joyfully back in to the arms of her sweetheart and eternal companion, Rodney, once more.

Eunice was born on March 6, 1934 in Glenwood, Utah to Danciel and Cleo Peterson. Eunice was the fifth of nine children. She was raised in a home that deeply valued family, hard work and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Though her upbringing was modest, it was rich in love. The girls in her family each had only one dress that was hand sewn by their mother, yet they never lacked what truly mattered. They were happy, healthy and surrounded by love. Her upbringing was something she always treasured and shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.

Eunice graduated from Richfield High School in 1952 and soon after moved to Salt Lake City to begin a career as a seamstress at Pikes Manufacturing Company. It was during a visit home that fate brought her face-to-face with Rodney Rasmussen of Salina, Utah. A romance quickly blossomed, and they were married in the Manti Temple on March 19, 1954.

Together, Eunice and Rodney raised four children. They built a home focused on love, faith and respect. While Rodney carried the long days and physical labor of growing his construction company, Eunice’s encouragement, sacrifice and belief in him were the backbone of both the business and their family. She prided herself on preparing delicious, wholesome meals and maintaining a clean and welcoming home. Her quiet strength and constant support were integral to their success and her influence was felt in every milestone they achieved together.

Kind to her core, Eunice worked her entire life to serve and care for her family and her community. Everything she did was done with intention and love. She had an extraordinary gift for making people feel important. Always ensuring that everyone around her knew how deeply loved and truly “special” they were. Wherever she went, she brought laughter, warmth, and happiness. She was a pillar of her community and her faith. Eunice served in various capacities within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Primary, Young Women and Relief Society President. Rodney and Eunice also served as Manti Temple Ordinance Workers and Family Home Evening Teachers at the Central Utah Correctional Facility. In 2010, they embarked on a service mission to the Adam-ondi-Ahman Mission in Missouri where they served together, hand in hand, as directors.

Though Eunice lived in a world surrounded by dirt, asphalt and equipment, she had a love for a little sparkle and glam. She loved getting her hair, makeup and nails done, going shopping and took special delight in dressing up her daughter, granddaughters and great-granddaughters any chance she could. She was always making them feel cherished, important, and beautiful. She also loved making sure her husband, sons, grandsons and great-grandsons were looking sharp and their clothes were always freshly laundered and pressed. Holidays brought her great joy. She loved decorating for every holiday, participating in parades and suppporting community events and she had an incredible ability to turn even the smallest of gatherings in to a fully decorated and catered event.

She was an incredible and devoted wife and mother, whose love knew no bounds. Guided by her deep faith, her remarkable mother’s intuition helped her protect, nurture, and support her family through every challenge. That wisdom, grounded in her maternal and spiritual convictions, played a vital role in shaping the close, loving and faith-centered family we are today. Above all else, she loved her family fiercely and completely. Her influence will be felt in every shared story, every family gathering, every holiday decoration hung and every moment of love passed down through the generations she helped build.

Her family will forever remember Eunice for her bright, beautiful smile and the soft giggle that so often followed it. Though her absence is deeply felt, her family finds peace in knowing her love story with Rodney will continue in Heaven, just as strong, enduring, and beautiful as it has always been.

23 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her beautiful smile, wisdom, and kindness.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. or Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.
