In memory of
Nera Perkins
August 23, 2019
I was so sorry to hear of Eva's passing. This is Nera Adams, Ivy's daughter. Your mother has been so kind to keep in contact with me for so many years after mama died in 1971. It alway felt like I still had a part of mama alive in Eva. Your mother was a wonderful lady and a good friend to mama. I was just reading one of her sweet notes the other day that I came across cleaning out a drawer.
I still go to Stuart to visit my one living aunt that was married to daddy's brother. Whe ever I past the water wheel house, I always think of Eva.
I still enjoy looking at the old pictures of them together, especially when they had the beauty shop together in Stanleyville.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Philip,
So sorry to hear about your mother. I know it hurts now but in time the fond memories will replace the pain.

Steve and Nancy, we were so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom....at age 97 and with Dad's (Dr Leon Agee Lackey) passing not long ago at age 95 (and both with the excellent palliative care at CARILION-!) makes a statement about the strength of the AGEE genes (!)
Carolyn and I apologize that we were not aware of this happening and the funeral until just recently but wanted to touch base with you to comfort you and let you know that you are in our prayers......We understand what it is like to live with an aging close family member who has made a statement in their lives and contributed to the betterment of family and community, and what a loss it is to carry on without them. May her memories you share with and of her give you support and make that star shine brighter in the sky.

I was so very sorry to hear about Eva's death. My parents , Lovelene and Milton Hensley , were friends of Eva and George back in the Martinsville days. They always spoke so fondly of them both. I visited with Eva several times with my Mom and she was such a lovely, kind, soul. I know she will be missed by so many. Please know that my heart and prayers are with your family.

Mrs Agee has always so nice to us kids when we were growing up as teens. She is the mother to an amazing family, and she herself came from a very distinguished Virginia family. Blessings on her and all of her family during this difficult time.

My heart is very sad tonight at the news of Aunt Eva's death. To Steve, Philip, Andrew, Carol and the entire family, may God hold you close and grant you His peace. I'm so sorry.
I am remembering all the family gatherings at Great Grandpa's, and the fun visits you guys would make to Grandma and Grandpa's porch (TH and Adeleen's), and it hurts to realize that we have lost Aunt Eva.
Thank you for sharing her with us all these years. She was a character and we loved her.
A big hug to each of you across the miles,
Nathan (Baliles)

Steve, Phillip, Andy and Carol and families. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I have so many wonderful memories of her from my childhood on Cordell. She was a kind, wonderful lady and I will never forget all the help she provided when my mom passed away. My deepest sympathy to your entire family.
