Eva Lillian Cook Eva Lillian Cook, joined the angels on July 14, 2004. She was born on February 6, 1925 to J.G. and Edna Tompkins in El Reno, Oklahoma. She married Harold L. Cook in 1946. Eva received her BA in Social Work from Indiana University in 1947. She then went on to earn her BS in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. She worked in the Headstart Program, worked as an elementary school teacher, a social worker at Brackenridge Hospital, and then after receiving her BS in Nursing worked at St. David’s Hospital for ten years. Eva’s hobbies included square dancing, playing dominoes, reading, numerous pets and her volunteer activities, which included volunteering at Christopher House, Seton Northwest Maternity Floor, New Hope Manor Nursing Home, Hill Country Ministries, Jonestown Senior Center, Jonestown Library and animal shelters. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.G. and Edna Tompkins, her husband Harold Cook, and one granddaughter, Tami Speir. She is survived by her children, Cinda Tobin of El Dorado, CA, Tim Cook of Austin, TX, James Cook of Stevens Point, WI, and Melissa Speir of Jonestown, TX; sister, Margaret Pack of Princeton, NJ; grandchildren, Ryan Tobin, Carlee Cook, Heather Cook, Jonathan McCabe and Julie McCabe. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2004 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Rolling Hills Community Church in Lago Vista. Eva’s favorite color is Lavender.
