Eva Hunter, 84, of Oak Hill, FL, passed away January 13, 2025. She was born April 26,1940, in Bukin, Yugoslavia. She is the daughter of the late Josef and Eva Eppli.
Eva grew up in Germany and was a survivor of the Bukin Concentration Camp, after her family was taken from their home during World War 2. Eva escaped with her sister, before reuniting with her parents and immigrating with them to the United States through Ellis Island, NY and settling in Trenton, New Jersey.
Eva attended Trenton High School, before beginning a career in the insurance industry at New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company, where she rose to become the 2nd highest female in the company, before retiring when her son was born, to become a full time mother.
After her husband's retirement, Eva and her husband split time between New Jersey and Florida to enjoy the warm weather and fishing.
Eva was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, and daughter.
Eva found joy in gardening, cooking, traveling, fishing, and archery. More than anything, she cherished moments spent with family.
Eva will be deeply missed by her son David L. Hunter, her daughter-in-law Heidy Hunter, and all of her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Leonard W. Hunter, and her sister Kathy Huck.
Eva will be remembered for her selfless nature, her love of being a mother and wife, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace.
