Eva Jean James

Mrs. Eva Jean (Session) James, daughter of the late Mr. John Session and Matilda Watson Session, was born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina on January 16, 1949. She departed this life on November 19, 2025 while in Monroe Community Hospital. Mrs. James came to Rochester, New York in 1969. This is where she settled and called home. Eva was a devoted wife and a very caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and the late Willies James, Sr. had four children. Eva and Willies had a great love for cooking together, especially on the weekends and holidays. Eva enjoyed doing the work of baby-sitting children and creating special bonds with the parents who were mostly family members, creating household items like little garbage bins out of old colored egg cartons, sewing quilts and gardening with Willies. She was full of life and enjoyed Friday and Saturday nights listening, dancing and singing to the old blues music she grew up with, her husband and children dancing with her. Mrs. James is also predeceased by her brothers Wallace, Johnnie and Harris Session. She has left behind two daughters, Marcia Wright (grands: Evay (great-grand Angel), Lakila (great-grands: Prince and Royal), Mishel and Levi) and Shaunti Session (grand: Shanik), two sons Derek James (grands: Deanna and Derrick) and Willie James, Jr. and wife, Michelle (grands: Willie Jr III. and Heaven), two sisters Angeline Davis and Linda Snow and two brothers Jasper and Ernest Lee Session, two cousins who were with her until the end, Arthur James and Valerie Barnes, other special cousins, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
