Eva Pauline (Ottogalli) Lauck, 94, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on December 12, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Romolo & Laura, her three sisters: Theresa, Annie, & Doris, her daughter, Lisa Smith, her daughter-in-law, Sharon Lauck, and the love of her life, her husband, William Lauck.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Eric Lauck & Carol Schenck, Laura & Jack McCoy, Tim Smith, Michael & Joan Lauck, Gregg Lauck, JoAnna & Joe Schmeltzer, as well as her fourteen adoring grandchildren, their spouses, and six great-grandchildren. Her family was the true joy of her life and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Eve was a wonderful cook, expert baker, avid reader, master card player, long-time Willie Nelson fan, and someone who liked spending a couple of dollars on a lottery ticket. She was a lover of a cold light beer, a glass of white wine (with two ice cubes, of course!), and a gin martini paired with a salty snack or a good appetizer.
Everyone who knew Eve loved her. She had an open heart and mind and treated anyone she met like family. Eve was a natural caretaker who was willing to help in any way she could. From getting a stubborn stain out of your shirt to making your favorite birthday dessert, no ask was too big. Even at 94, she was always on the move and had an active social life, truly living every day to the fullest.
Eve touched many lives and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those who were lucky enough to know her.
A mass to honor her legacy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will take place in Spring 2024 with more details to follow. Donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio.
