Eva M. Martinez

Eva M. Martinez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, entered eternal rest on February 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.

Eva was born on July 16, 1943, in Santa Rita, New Mexico, to Leopoldo and Angelina R. Marrufo, and was raised in Hurley, New Mexico.

She met the love of her life, Silverio "Tony" Martinez, while he was employed as a carpenter at the New Mexico University. The two were united in marriage on November 16, 1968 and shared 33 wonderful years together. They later relocated from Las Cruces to Winkelman, where tony accepted a position with the local copper mine. There, Eva devoted herself to raising their children- Amy, Nancy, Adam, and Tracie- and made Winkelman their home.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Silverio "Tony" Martinez; her daughter Nancy M. Perez; her grandson Robert Martinez Jr.; her parents Leopoldo and Angelina R. Marrufo; and her siblings, Priscilla M. Duran and Leopoldo George Marrufo.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and dear friends.

Eva's thoughtfulness, warmth, and kindness toward everyone she met will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
