Eva Mae Smith

Sis. Eva Mae Smith was born on April 20, 1948 to Oscar Ray Stoglin, Jr. and Sewilla Simmons-Stoglin. Eva was raised as a Baptist, in a Christ and love filled home and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Eva never strayed from the safety of God's love and protection. As a child, Eva attended Lakeview Baptist Church where she served as the church musician, church clerk, and president of the choir. In her adult years, Eva went on to become a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and her final church home was Neighborhood Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lee Yarbrough. Eva Mae graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1966. She was employed by the Austin State School for 12 years and the Austin Independent School District for 20 years. Eva Mae Stoglin was united in marriage to Ernest J. Smith on February 15, 1969. To this union three children, who were their parents pride and joy, were born, Ernest Smith, Jr., Kimberly Smith and Kawasaii Smith. Sis. Eva Mae Smith was preceded in death by her paents, Oscar Ray Stoglin, Jr. and Sewilla Simmons Stoglin; her brothers Jessie James Stoglin and Oscar Ray Stoglin, III. Eva leaves to cherish her most precious memories husband Ernest Smith; son Ernest Smith, Jr. (Tunnie); two daughters, Kimberly and Kawasaii Smith; two sisters, Nola Mae Earthman and Jessie Mae Jones; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
