Eva Lou Vojvodich, 81, of Marion, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, at 5:56 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her children and family.
Eva was born on September 26, 1943, in Marion to Albert L. and Dorothy E. (Jones) Varner. She was united in marriage to Nikola Vojvodich on January 20, 1973, in Cedar Lake, Indiana. They shared 27 years of marriage together, before he preceded her in death on March 5, 2000.
Eva was retired having worked many jobs through out her life. In her younger years, she worked at several factories, Olin Industries in Marion and Reliance Parachute Factory in Indiana. Eva had a servant's heart and was later called to work home health and care for patients in their home. She went on to work at The Lighthouse Shelter in Marion for several years and Marion Carnegie Library, a job she loved.
Eva was a longtime member of Jubilee Tabernacle in Desoto. To know Eva- was to know she loved the Lord. Eva was a faithful servant, prayer warrior and witness to the Kingdom of God and never missed the opportunity to share His word.
Eva's greatest joy in life was being a mother. She was a fantastic homemaker and loved to care for her family and others. She enjoyed cooking while singing in kitchen, sewing, gardening, and reading the word of God. She also enjoyed keeping her nine children in line.
Eva is survived by her eight children, Nick (Linda) Vojvodich of Marion, Peggy Jo Husband of Marion, Lennie Rose of Marion, Helena Hill of Johnston City, Wayne (Tammy) Norris of Thompsonville, Mary (Keith) Travelstead of Marion, Don (Brandy) Vojvodich of Johnston City, and Bill Vojvodich of Johnston City; 25 grandchildren, Shirley Jo, Justen, Bradley, Jessica, Nikki, David, Shane, Bronca, Will, Carrie, Aaron, Brandi, Felicia, Dustin, Kailynn, Billy, Samantha, Ivy, Amber, Vance, Arielle, Dalton, Lexi, Tyler, and Alex; 50 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; five siblings, Josphine Varner of Tyler, TX, Karen Bush of Marion, Sandra (Larry) Long of Johnston City, George (Jane) Jones of Pittsburg, and Judy Holmes of Pittsburg. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Blaine Alan Fleming; grandson, Cole Crowell; two siblings, Jack Jones and Shirley Hill.
Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 8th, 2024, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Kevin McNeely officiating. Interment will follow at Number 8 Cemetery in Pittsburg.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 8th, 2024, at the funeral home.
Memorial contribution may be made to The Lighthouse Shelter in Marion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home the day of service.
