Eva Marie Yost

Eva Marie Yost, 78, of Bremerton, passed away after a short battle with cancer on February 26, 2009 at Hospice of Kitsap County Care Center. She was born on February 8, 1931 to William and Louise Vanderzanden in Forest Grove, OR. She married Charles Yost on January 24, 1953 in Forest Grove, OR. She and her family moved to Bremerton in 1954 where Charles began his Civil Service Career in the shipyard. Eva was a devoted homemaker and the family's rock of "Gibraltar". She enjoyed music, playing bingo, playing cards, embroidery and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and brothers, Elmer and Ervin "Bud" Vanderzanden. Surviving are her children, Brenda Yost of Wenatchee, Dana (Christina) Yost of Port Orchrad, Edward (Mary)Yost of Ramsey, MN, grandchildren., Dana (Debbie) Yost, Katrina Bastian (David), Charles Bartness (Christina), Adam Bartness (Brook) Aaron Yost, Ashley Yost, Chanda Groat, Tyler Yost, and 5 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Kitsap County PO Box 3416 Silverdale, WA 98383. No formal services will be held.
