Evaline M. Way, age 87, of Fremont, died Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont.
Evaline was born October 10, 1938, in Oakland, NE, to Martin and Hazel 'Bergquist' Olson. She attended district 17 school at Swaburg and graduated from Uehling High School in 1956. She married R. Gary Way on October 14, 1956. They lived most of their married life in Fremont. Evaline was a home maker and then worked for Fremont Public Schools as a cook. She was a member of Sinai Lutheran Church.
Survivors: daughter, Linda Way of Fremont; son, Ron (Julie) Way of Fremont; three grandchildren, Alex and Bryan Way, Kendra Coufal; one great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Sandy Olson of Fremont; brother-in-law, Ray Eastberg of Ft. Collins, CO.
Evaline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary in 2012; and brother and two sisters.
The memorial service will be 2pm, Monday, February 2, 2026, at Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial will be in the Elim Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
