Evalyn Adams Rouse Edens

Evalyn Adams Rouse Edens, 85, of Bowling Green, Kentucky died on Sunday, February 27, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The daughter of the late Everett and Laura Adams. Mrs. Edens was Born in Hazen, Arkansas, in 1919. Mrs. Edens was the widow of Isaac Christopher Rouse, who died in 1968, and William R. Edens, who died in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Rouse Moore and husband Richard of El Paso, Texas, two granddaughters, Susan Booth Moore and husband Adam Tschorn and Kathleen Adams Moore, all of Los Angeles. A Sister Wanda Knight of Little Rock, and brother Everett Adams of Hazen, also survive her. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nadean Deckshot and a brother Ellis Adams.

Mrs. Edens lived her adult years in North Little Rock, moving to Bowling Green in 1999. She worked at the American Cancer Society and the Methodist Children’s Home, and for many years owned and operated a restaurant in downtown Little Rock. After she retired, she was a volunteer in the North Little Rock Public Schools. She had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for the past 15 years. For much of her adult life, she was member of the now defunct Washington Avenue Methodist Church of North Little Rock and the in later years was a Member of the First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock.

The Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 3, 2005 at 11:00 am in the chapel of North Little Rock’s First United Methodist Church with visitation from 10:00 am in the parlor of the church until service time. Interment will be at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.
