Evan Ross Wills, 36, of Bloomingdale, Indiana, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories.
Born on August 12, 1988, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Evan was the son of Erin Randel Wills and Ann-Jeanette Robinson Wills. A proud graduate of North Montgomery High School, he went on to serve his country with honor. Evan dedicated over 14 years to the United States Army National Guard (July 30, 2007 – December 22, 2021), serving tours in Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Syria.
On September 3, 2013, Evan married his best friend, Jamie Stevens Wills. Jamie survives him in Bloomingdale, along with their children, Carson Crowder and Maddilynn Crowder.
Evan is also survived by his father, Erin (Arlinda) Wills of Crawfordsville; his mother, Ann-Jeanette Robinson Wills of Waynetown; three brothers, Alec Kesling, Nathan (Amber) Ulmer, and Kyle Robinson; two sisters, Rebecca Wills and Kaeleigh (Greg ) Newlin; Grandparents Janice and Dan Routt, Dolores and Mike Alan and Linda and Gene Redman. Several nieces, nephews and Aunts and Uncles. His two best friends, Sam (Brittany) Brown and Tyler (Tiffani) Earley and his bonus kids, Lucas, Phoebe, and Owen. Evan is preceded in death by his Grandfathers Rex Wills and Arlie Thompson; two brothers, Tyler Robinson and Eric Wills and one sister, Megan Ulmer.
He will be remembered for his love of fishing, his talent for building, and his joy in spending time outdoors.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street,
Rockville, Indiana, with Chaplain Chris Duckworth officiating. Military honors will be performed in recognition of his service. Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
