Evangeline Trujillo

Evangeline "Vangie" Trujillo was born October 18, 1931, in Chama, CO, and passed on May 24, 2024, at home in Gardner, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents Malcolfa and Augustine Bravo, her husband Ernest Trujillo and 3 children: Roy, Delfino and Adeline. She is survived by her youngest son, Pete Trujillo, 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great great - grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and all of the non-biological kids that grew up calling her "mom" or "Gramma."
Vangie leaves behind a long legacy of love, kindness and generosity. Her door and arms were always open to anyone in need, and she loved everyone without prejudice. She loved conversing and cooking, she always greeted company with a kind smile, and no one ever left her house with an empty stomach. Everyone loved her cooking, especially her home-made tortillas!
She will forever be remembered for her good-natured attitude and kind, welcoming smile that is embedded in the hearts of everyone that knew her.
Services will be observed June 11, 2024, at Gardner Catholic Church with visitation from 11:30 to 12:30 and a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30. Interment to immediately follow at Ortiviz/Trujillo Cemetery. Reception to follow at Community Center in Gardner.
