Evelyn Wilson Alberts, age 92, of Marion entered the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
Evelyn was born November 5, 1930, in Yancey County, NC to the late Bryan William Wilson and Dora Effler Wilson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alberts.
Evelyn was a member of Clinchfield Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly. She enjoyed spending her time at the beach and Lake James. Evelyn was a wonderful wife, sister, and aunt.
Those left behind to cherish Evelyn's memory are three siblings, Jack Wilson, Wilma Szabo, and Elizabeth Nichols all of Marion; a very special niece, Kristin Tipton and husband, Marc; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. A funeral service to celebrate Evelyn's life will follow at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Roach officiating. A private interment will be at McDowell Memorial Park.
The family would like to say a special "Thank you" to all Evelyn's caregivers for the tender love and care shown to Evelyn and her family during her extended illness.
