Evelyn was a lovely lady that I only knew for the last nine years of her life, through Betty Ann Cody's study groups at St. Mark's. I remember especially her wonderful sense of humor and her stories of her codebreaking in Washington during World War II. I'm so happy to have known her for even a short while.

The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Alamo Mission Chapter, are saddened by the loss of our friend and fellow member, Evelyn Bailey. She lived a life reflecting her love and generous spirit. Evelyn will be memorialized in the DRT records in Austin and here in San Antonio, for all time. Eternal rest grant on to her Oh Lord.

Lou,
I am Penny Jones Holcomb, daughter of Ashford and May Irvin Jones in Nacogdoches. I am not very good at computer technology, so I have sent pictures two times without a message. I read about your mom and was sorry to hear of her passing. All of us in Lucette's kindergarten class continue to remember Lucette, your dad and mom, and you and Nick with very fond memories. That was a very special beginning of a Christian faith for a lifetime. I live in Houston now. My e-mail is in this message, I hope if you have a chance that you will contact me. I would love to reconnect with you. I am also sending a photo your dad took for an invitation to your birthday party.

My sympathy to the family . May God remember Evelyn and may he comfort the family during this mournful time . Isaiah 12 : 2 .

Is death the end of it all? Psalms:37:29 say that "The righteous will possess the earth and they will live forever upon it." That means that there is the hope of being reunited with Evelyn again right here on the earth.
