Evelyn “Evy” Kay Kietzer, age 75, of Mankato passed away on December 11, 2024.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Private burial will be held in Saint John’s Lutheran Willow Creek North Cemetery. Livestream of the service will be available at www.mankatomortuary.com.
Evelyn was born on March 3, 1949, to Alfred and Lydia (Peters) Roesner in Windom, MN. She went to school in Lakefield, MN, and later received her GED. Evelyn worked as a cook in the MRCI kitchen, which is where she met her husband, Gordon. On September 25, 1976, Evelyn married Gordon in Lakefield, MN and together they had one daughter, Jessica. Evelyn stayed home as a homemaker until the passing of her husband in 1989, and then went back to MRCI where she worked in retail in their thrift store until she retired in 1999.
Evelyn enjoyed riding their motorcycle through the countryside, traveling, playing card and board games, cooking, and baking, and most of all spending time with her family.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Mike) Kietzer of Mankato; 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Dusty Kietzer from Mankato; sister, Elaine (Dennis) Neitzel of Sequim, WA; niece, Michele Nordell of Sequim, WA, and nephew, Michael (Belle) Bezdicek of Portland, OR.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; parents, Alfred and Lydia Roesner; sister, Eileen Roesner, and brother-in-law, Greg Bezdicek.
