Garcia, Evelyn Thiesfield, 76, of Boynton Beach, Florida, beloved wife of Guy E. Garcia, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 24th. Born August 11, 1949, in Queens, New York, daughter of the late Carl and Rachel Thiesfield. She was a real estate professional, advocate for affordable housing and a dedicated political and community leader. She was a founding member of the Haitian American Democratic Caucus of Florida, ran for election to the Florida State House of Representatives, was the only Haitian American elected to the Democratic National Committee and chaired the Immigration Committee of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the League of Women Voters. She is survived by her loving husband Guy Edouard Garcia, daughters Tanya Grant & Nicole Dison (Ernest), grandchildren Nina, Olivia & William Dison; Siblings H. Robert Thiesfield (Basia), Carolle Andrews, Carl Thiesfield, Nancy Robinson (Richard), Rae Vann (Roger), Lisa Thiesfield (Joe), Mireille Dormena & Harry Thiesfield; Nieces & Nephews Talia Thiesfield, Jonathan Robinson, Julien Thiesfield (Katherine), Chad Vann, Troy Vann & Rachelle Vann; Aunts, Uncles & Cousins in New York, Connecticut, Georgia, Montreal, Mexico City and Haiti; and wonderful Friends & Colleagues especially in Florida.
