Mrs. Evelyn Harriger Gray, wife of the late Willam F. Gray Jr., entered into rest on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Sodalis Assisted Living Center.
A private graveside service will be held at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Born in Pennsylvania, Evelyn was one of four children born to William and Hannah Harriger. She shared a remarkable 68-year marriage with her beloved husband, Bill, whose passing in 2021 marked the end of a lifelong partnership built on love, commitment, and mutual devotion.
Following their retirement, Evelyn and Bill made their home in the Augusta, Georgia area, where they enjoyed a quieter pace of life while remaining close to loved ones. Evelyn found her greatest joy in time spent with family. She treasured family gatherings, where laughter and stories were always abundant, and she especially loved family vacations that created lasting memories for generations.
She is survived by her children, William Gray (Laurie) of Naples, Florida, Patricia Smilak (John) of Martinez, Ga, and Gerald Gray of Colorado, and her grandchildren, Johnny Smilak, Julie Smilak and Elizabeth Gray Menzel (Sam).
