Evelyn M. LaMotte

Evelyn M. (Kinard) LaMotte, 97, of Dallastown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Kingston Court Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the devoted wife of the late W. Glenwood LaMotte. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2006.
Born on July 25, 1927, in Lower Windsor Township, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Cora (Nace) Kinard Hake and Elwood Kinard.
She was employed by G.T.E., now Verizon, and retired after 25 years of dedicated service as a "Frameman," a role she took great pride in.
Always a loving and caring mother, Evelyn is survived by her children: Stephen LaMotte and his wife Marcia, David LaMotte and his wife Barbara, Glenda Miller, and Beth Markey and her husband Keith; her daughter-in-law Christina LaMotte; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren. She is also remembered with love by many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Glenn LaMotte; two brothers; and two sisters.
In accordance with Evelyn's wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. Following cremation, a private burial will take place at Blymire's Cemetery in Dallastown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
