Evelyn Lindsay Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tate Mortuary on Nov. 28, 2025.
Grace "Evelyn" West Lindsay, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, surrounded by her children. She was born on February 19, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Blaine C. West; her parents, George and Lorita Dymock; her brother; eight of her sisters; and W. Paul Lindsay. She is survived by her children: Vickie and Vern Bracken, Steve and Debbie West, and Barbara and Richard Twitchell; along with her 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Evelyn had a lifelong love for gardening and cooking. No one ever went hungry in her presence-she filled your belly, your fridge, and your shelves. She created a home where everyone felt welcomed, loved, and cared for.

She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served a mission in Australia. Her love for the gospel shaped her life, and she shared that love openly with her family.

Evelyn was an accomplished seamstress, and nearly every member of her family holds a treasured memento made by her hands. She often spoke of her sweetheart, Blaine-how he was a true gentleman from their very first date-and she longed for the day they would be reunited.

Above all, Evelyn was well-loved by her family, and she loved each of them just as deeply. Her legacy of warmth, service, faith, and love will continue on through the generations she leaves behind.

We deeply appreciate the tender, loving care that Cottage Glen Assisted Living and Harmony Home Health and Hospice provided to Evelyn, and we are forever grateful for the compassion and support they gave her and our family.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the 19th Ward Building, 1030 S. 900 W, Tooele, UT 84074. Interment will follow at Tooele City Cemetery.

A livestream of the service will be available on Evelyn's obituary page at tatemortuary.com
