Evelyn A. Malocha

MT. PROSPECT - Evelyn A. Malocha, nee Such, age 99. Beloved wife of the late Chester Malocha; loving mother of Donald (Svetlana), and Carol (Richard) Roller; cherished grandmother of Linnette, Curtis, Michael, Jessica, and step grandson Nikolai; great-grandmother of seven (Jaiden, Andrew, Katie, Liam, Daniel, Atticus and Vivian); dear sister of the late Joseph Such, Emma Wisniewski, Bernice Rajchel, and Edward Such; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn liked to tell people that she was born in an orphanage. That was not really the case, her father worked as a carpenter for the orphanage so the family could live there and rent out their home during the depression. She enjoyed sharing stories about the old days i.e. oil streetlamps lit every evening, coal delivered through the chute in the house, and ice blocks used in the refrigerator. During World War II, Evelyn did her civic duty by working for Douglas Aircraft. Afterwards, she worked as a bookkeeper for a construction company, but her greatest joy was being a homemaker. She loved to play bingo, card games, and word search puzzles. Evelyn lived a long and wonderful life.
Evelyn's family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Belmont Village Senior Living in Glenview, IL for their dedicated and loving care of Evelyn in her final year of life.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church 820 N. Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Entombment to follow at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery 6800 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
