Evelyn Dorothy Orr, 93

Evelyn Dorothy Orr passed away June 8, 2023. She was born in Krem, ND, on September 9, 1929, to Herman and Maria (Richter) Reichenberg. Evelyn attended a country school in Krem, which her father insisted on. He wanted his children to learn and write in English. They were transported in a horse-drawn wagon filled with straw. She later attended high school in Hazen, a town south of Krem, where she graduated.



Evelyn married James Emery Orr in 1948 in Key West, Fl, where Jim was serving in the US Navy. The married couple returned to Hazen, ND, after his separation form service and the family grew to 4 Children; Roger, Bruce, Patti, and Terry, prior to moving out west to Post falls, ID, in 1955. One year later the family relocated to CDA, and Tom joined the family in 1960.



During the 68 years in the community Evelyn was primarily a homemaker, but worked outside the home as a waitress for Brunswick Cafe and Templin's Resort, salesclerk for J.C. Penney, and as a bank teller. She was deeply involved with St. Paul Memorial Church and taught many Bible study classes. She was also an active member of Concerned Women for America. She loved gardening, keyboard playing as rest homes, quilting, sewing, and RVing with her husband Jim.



Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Jim, 4 sisters, and 6 brothers. She is survived by her 5 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.



She was a loving and praying mother.



A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 22, at Coeur d' Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, CDA.
