I taught with Mrs. Phifer at China Grove Middle (1990-1992) as 6th grade transitioned from elementary school to the middle school setting. She and I were paired together as teammates; she, one of the most experienced teachers and I, one of the least experienced. An unlikely pairing, perhaps, but it worked. I learned a lot from her and she often let me take the lead. Even through all the adjustments of those years, she came in happy every morning with a big smile and a cheery, "Good morning!", ready for the day. I have great appreciation for the way she met those challenges during that phase of her career. As I read through her obituary, I remembered many of the family members' names from when she would share stories of her life. I can still see the sparkle in her eye and hear the love in her voice as she spoke of them. I am glad to have known Mrs. Phifer and am praying God's comfort for the family during this sad time of her passing.

Mrs. Phifer was my 5th grade teacher at Kiser she was such a good teacher she help me fit in at that school cause i was the only black in the class this was the first time I had been in a class and there was no one else that look like me. She told me I was just has good as the rest of the student it stuck with me all during my 2 years there Thank You.

Mrs Phifer was my fifth grade teacher at R.G Kizer elementary school class of 70. She was a wonderful lady and a great teacher. Praying for her family and friends she will truly be missed by many but never forgotten. RIP Mrs. Phifer.

I will miss my cousin and will always remember how we often got to church at the same time and walked in together. The girls and I loved her and will always have great memories of her to share for a lifetime. Many blessings to the family.
