Evelyn (Opal) Rognstad went to be with our Heavenly Father July 18, 2023. Born February 19th, 1932 in Solway MN. to Jacob Burgoon and Edith (Wilson) Burgoon. Married the love of her life Devere (Slim) Rognstad on June 20, 1975. Survivors include her daughter Edith (the late Bob) Christoferson, Solway DeeWayne Rognstad Clearbrook, Sue (James) Bettin Mehnaga, Rodney Rognstad California Daughter-in-law Karen Rognstad Grandchildren: Shannon (Jon) Wright, Anita Christoferson, Ben (Kim) Christoferson, Renae and Amber Christoferson, Justin (Nikki) Rognstad, Lisa Meridee, James and Josh Bettin, Tim Rosie, Dakota Witney and Paige Rognstad.
10 Great Grandchildren, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Devere (Slim) Rognstad her parents and sons Everet and Ernie Gilchrist, Tim and Mike Rognstad son-in-law Robert Christoferson, Grandson Matt Christoferson, Two brothers Roy and Ray Burgoon, Two sisters Wilma Kelm and Mamie Johnson. Opal was a heavy equipment operator on road construction for many years when she retired from that job she was a bartender and cooked at the Leonard bar, and was well known for her great hamburgers. She loved planting and taking care of her flowers and garden and was very particular and proud of her beautiful lawn. She and Slim enjoyed traveling all the western states.
In her younger years she bowled and was very good at it and had won a lot of trophies. She also loved playing softball with the Bomeretts; her special team members were Grace D. Deloris T. and Arlis S.
She asked me to honor her special friend's Arlis Strandlien from Solway Evelyn Cole from Leonard Interment will be at Norway Lake Cemetery Leonard Mn. A memorial service will be held at Ron and Marian's Vold farm 14899 Great Valley Rd. NW. Pinewood August 19th, 2023 11:00 a.m.
