Evelyn E. Sprenger, age 98, of Millersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Sheboygan Senior Community.
She was born in the Town of Herman on September 19, 1926, to the late Oscar and Anna (Werthmann) Heusterberg. On October 11, 1947, Evelyn was united in marriage to Lester Sprenger at Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2010. Evelyn was a lifetime member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, where she served on the alter guild and ladies aide.
Evelyn enjoyed watching the Brewers, Bucks, and the Green Bay Packers. She was a part of the Highway 8 Card Club of Millersville for many years. Above all, spending time with her family meant so much to Evelyn. Many memories were made at the cottage on Pickerel Lake. She will be dearly missed.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Dennis (Patricia) Sprenger of Elkhart Lake; her daughters, Joan (Lee) Grunewald of Sheboygan, Judy Ramey of Howards Grove and Amy Steinhaus of Howards Grove; grandchildren, Kerry, Kim (Jenny) and Keith (Lia) Grunewald, Cole Ramey, Chadd (Ann) Lange and Mandy (fiancé Bill Baird) Sprenger; four great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her siblings, Fredrick (Esther) Heusterberg, Verna (Roland) Groene, Adela (Adrian) Damrow and Ruby (Roland) Schomberg; sons-in-law, Tom Ramey, Jack Steinhaus and Dave Bratz; father and mother-in-law, Arwin (Lydia) Sprenger and sisters and brothers-in-law, Milton (Irene) Sebald, Robert (Bernice) Thomson and Reuben (Arline) Hoppe.
A private family service for Evelyn will be held and she will be laid to rest next to Lester at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Evelyn’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sheboygan Senior Community Center for the excellent care given to Evelyn.
