Evelyn Nadine Stevens

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Evelyn Nadine Stevens on June 22, 2025. She was 58 years old.
Evelyn was born on December 7, 1966, to Wade and Vila Ree Stevens, who raised her with love, strength, and an unwavering sense of family. From a young age, Evelyn's warm heart, infectious laugh, and generous spirit made her a light to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A devoted and proud mother, Evelyn's greatest joy came from her children, Christina Connolly, Gage Connolly, and Daughter-in-Law Rebecca. She poured her heart into raising them with kindness, compassion, and resilience-qualities they now carry forward as her enduring legacy. She was a guiding star, a constant source of support, and their fiercest advocate.
Evelyn's love for her granddaughters, Brynn and Emma, knew no bounds. They were her heart's greatest joy, and she adored them with every part of her being. She found delight in their laughter, comfort in their hugs, and pride in watching them grow. In their eyes, she saw the future-and through them, her love and spirit will continue to shine brightly.
She shared a lifelong friendship and deep bond with her best friend, Mike Connolly. Their connection was one of unwavering loyalty and shared memories that spanned decades.
Evelyn is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Mitchell Stevens, and her sister, Gloria Stevens. She was not just a sister but a lifelong friend, a confidante, and a beautiful presence in their lives.
Evelyn was a faithful member of Livingston Baptist Church of Riegelwood, NC. Her faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout her life, and her church community held a special place in her heart.
Evelyn's kindness was quiet but powerful, her laughter healing, and her love limitless. Whether you were family, friend, or stranger, Evelyn had a way of making you feel seen and valued. She found beauty in everyday life and taught those around her to do the same.
Though her time here was far too short, Evelyn's legacy of love, strength, and grace will continue in the hearts of all who knew her. We will miss her deeply but carry her with us always.

Funeral services for Ms. Evelyn will be conducted on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 9AM in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel, 5229 Ocean Hwy West, Shallotte, NC 28470. Burial will follow in the Stevens Family Cemetery, Little River, SC.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 7-8pm at the funeral home.
