Evelyn Trent Obituary
She was a faithful member of Spruce Pine Grove Baptist Church until her health declined. Evelyn enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and her all time favorite was being a grandmother. She loved her family passionately and fiercely. Evelyn and Ronnie were married on August 6, 1966.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie C. and Ina Lovin; brother, Arnold Chester Lovin; brother-in-law, Wesley Stroupe; nephew, Shannon Lovin.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Trent; sons, Alan and Greg; daughter, Anita (Troy) Dollins; two precious grandchildren, Jasmine and Matthew Dollins; sisters, Mary (Lloyd) Stubblefield of Church Hill and Dorothy Stroupe of Asheville, NC; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other dear friends and loved ones.
The family of Evelyn wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Amedysis Hospice, especially Callie and Julia for all the care they have shown.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. Odell Davidson, Rev. Brandon Brewer, and Rev. Dustin Callahan officiating. Graveside service will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 11:00 am in Lovin Cemetery. Anyone who wishes to follow in the funeral procession is asked to meet at Christian-Sells by 10:00 am Thursday.
Pallbearers will be James Trent Jr., Pat Trent, Wes Vaughn, Lee Elkins, Lucas Elkins, and Truit Bowen. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Dollins, Rodney Dodson, and Anthony Stroupe.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spruce Pine Grove Baptist Church.
