Evelyn Vartabedian Obituary
Evelyn Louise Vartabedian
Evelyn Vartabedian, wife of Joseph Vartabedian died peacefully on August 26, 2023, at her home in Bowie, Maryland Evelyn is survived by her four children Elise, Jack, Geri and Peter, and three grandchildren, Theo and Zoe Couloumbis, and Joseph Vartabedian. She was the loving daughter of Peter and Geraldine Stephanos, and sister of Tom Stephanos. She was a native of Washington, DC and Maryland, and involved in church and community activities. Along with being a devoted mother and wife, she taught Sunday school, served on church committees and in more recent years volunteered her time at hospice and hospital facilities visiting patients anddelivering flowers. She gave of herself in many ways, and touched the lives of people who will always remember her. Viewing and Funeral Service will be at Saint Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, DC on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. A memorial meal will immediately follow the service. Internment will be private for family members at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood. MD In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2815 36th Street, Washington, DC 20007.

I am so sorry to hear about Evelyn's passing. I truly appreciated her kindness and sweet nature. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I know she will be missed by so many.

I am so sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. She was a client of mine for a number of years. She and I shared many meaningful conversations while she worked out. She was like a second mother figure to me and I will miss her dearly. She was a lovely woman. My condolences to Joe and the family.

Joe my dearest friend, I am so saddened by this news and lost for words to express my sorrow. I had no idea till about a week ago when I last seen you and you told me that she was not doing well and suffering with cancer. Not sure how painful the illness was for her but know that she is in a good hand and pain free. My sincere condolences to you and all the family and let me know if I can help in any way. So sorry to learn of Evelyn´s passing. I know she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Also, years ago I played tennis with Evelyn. Such a pleasure to have known her.
