Everald "Rue" Williams, 77, of Poinciana, Florida, passed away on December 31, 2024. He was born on December 5, 1947, in Manchester, Jamaica, to Alton and Estelle Robinson Williams. Everald moved to Poinciana on January 5, 2005, from Port Charlotte, Florida. Originally from Jamaica, Everald, a skilled workman, worked in various capacities, masonry, carpentry and his final stint as a custodian for the school board in New Jersey from 2009 until his retirement in 2021. Everald gave his life to God as a young man and served in the Church of God 7th Day using his building skills as well as a Deacon in his early years.
Everald found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved solving puzzles, playing dominos, tending to his garden, singing songs and reading his bible. Known for his sense of humor, Everald's lighthearted jokes brought smiles to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Estelle Robinson Williams, brother, Hilbert Williams, granddaughter Ramona Williams. Everald's memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Gertrude Williams; his children, Wayde Williams-McIntyre and wife, Kerrian of Poinciana, Preston Williams of Poinciana, Rhoda Moore and husband, Dalkeith of Palm Bay, Gershon Williams of Poinciana, and Nuvart Hemmings and husband, Creadel of Poinciana; his brother, Terrence Robinson of Jamaica; his sisters, Veronica Lola Robinson (Jamaica), Eileen Linda Anderson of New Jersey, Ionie Jose Williams of Baltimore, Maryland, and Faye Robinson of Jamaica; and his beloved grandchildren, Duvancé McIntyre, Nathan Moore, Seth Hemmings, Mario Williams, David Hemmings, Romaine Williams, Dominic McIntyre, Abigail Hemmings and Samuel Hemmings.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. Everald will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery.
