Schaudt Funeral Service and Cremation Care - Glenpool-BixbyEverett Flanagan, 88, a beloved father, spouse, son, and father-in-law, was called to his eternal resting place on March 15, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1937, in Marysville, California, to Alfred and Beulah Flanagan.
Everett was a proud California native who later made Oklahoma his home after moving there in 1974. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent many years employed with CMI before retiring. Everett was known for his strong work ethic and deep devotion to his family. At one point in his life, he carried three jobs at the same time to ensure his family was well cared for. He was a simple man in the best sense of the word-loyal, loving, and dependable, with a warm sense of humor. Though he could be a little bull-headed at times, those who loved him knew it was simply part of the strength and determination that defined him.
Everett proudly served his country in the National Guard, a reflection of his commitment to service and responsibility.
He found joy in the small and meaningful moments of everyday life. Everett had a sweet tooth and especially loved ice cream-banana splits being a favorite treat. He enjoyed spending quiet time working puzzles, watching the birds, and feeding the rabbits and squirrels that visited his yard. Hummingbirds were a particular delight to him. Everett also kept a careful watch over the neighbor's cows, often giving his daily report about them with a smile.
Some of his most peaceful moments were spent sitting beneath the pine trees, often catching a quiet nap in his chair. He enjoyed piddling around the yard, tidying things up, and tending to small tasks that kept his hands busy. Everett also cherished his daily breakfast outings with Beverly. He loved watching a good fire burn and was known to safely tend a trash fire, always with a stick in one hand and a water hose close-by-just in case.
Everett is lovingly remembered by his son, Mike Flanagan and daughter-in-law Barbara Flanagan; son, Terry Flanagan; Jeffery Flanagan and daughter-in-law TJ Flanagan; and daughter, Lisa Rader and son-in-law Billy Rader.
He also leaves behind a large and cherished legacy through his grandchildren: Melissa and husband Ben Ebert; Ron and wife Christie Johnson; Chandra Lone; Darci Flanagan; David Flanagan; Kyle Flanagan and wife Christina Flanagan; and Kaci Flanagan.
His great-grandchildren include: Malorie and Chad Hinkle; Lindsey and Chris Sadafsaz; Sabrina and Kyler Lindsey; Blake Jeminez; Elijah Lone; Eliana Lone; Carson; Banx; Destiny Toler; and Natalee Flanagan.
He was further blessed with great-great-grandchildren: Jaidyn Ward; Attison Ward; Cohen Bates; Bryson Bates; Easton Flores; Addilynn Waters; Lexton Hinkle; Christopher Sadafsaz; Ezra Hinkle; Caden Sadafsaz; and Stetson Lindsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Beulah Flanagan; his Aunt Lou Flanagan; half-brother Lee James Flanagan; brother Ralph Flanagan and sister-in-law Pat; Uncle George and Aunt Mae; Uncle Al and Grace McHenry; Uncle Everett and Andrea McHenry; his grandmother Clara; and Patsy Flanagan.
Everett will be remembered as a devoted family man whose quiet strength, steady presence, and simple joys left a lasting mark on the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, loyalty, and love for family will continue to live on through the generations he helped guide and nurture.
A memorial service to honor Everett's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Victory Fellowship, 2404 Sunset Drive, El Reno, Oklahoma 73036.
