Funeral services for Everett Wayne Gilmore, age 75, of Columbia will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, April 29, 2024, from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church with Bro. Ed Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery at Mangham under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The Gilmore family will receive visitors on Monday, prior to the service, from 10:00 AM until time of service at noon at the church.

Everett Wayne Gilmore was born on January 25, 1949, at Columbia, LA, to the union of his parents, the late William Riley Gilmore and Agnes Lucille Roy Gilmore, and he passed from this life on April 25, 2024, at his residence following a brief illness.

Everett was an active member of the Bethany Baptist Church at Hebert having served as sound system director for numerous years. He served in Vietnam in the United States Navy. He trained on the USS Lexington and served on the USS Oriskany. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers: William R. Gilmore, Sr., Allen J. Gilmore, and an infant brother.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Shirley Gilmore of Columbia; two daughters: Shelley Kelly (Nathan) of Columbia and Ginny Gilmore of Monroe; his brother: Jerry Gilmore (Kathy) of Denham Springs, LA; his beloved grandchildren: Brooke Wilcher (Lamar), Dustin Laphan, Madalyn Howard (Ethan), Rebecca Parr (Carlos), and Cady Oxner (Logan); as well as, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Koltin Wilcher, Lamar Wilcher, Travis Gilmore, E. J. Howard, Dustin Laphan and Carlos Ledesma. Honorary pallbearers include Ethan Howard, Billy Lane McClanahan, and Roger Wheeler.
