"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." -Romans 8:28
Surrounded by his loving family, Everett Vasco Holley, Sr., transitioned peacefully into his eternal home on May 16, 2023. Everett, affectionately called "Teeter," or "Teet," was born February 12, 1948, in
Cantonment, FL. He was the third child of Sylvester, Sr. and Mary Holley.
Teet spent many hours enjoying the outdoors with his siblings. With a very firm work ethic instilled by his father, Teet began working at a young age. He enjoyed landscaping and gardening. He attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School.
Along with his parents and six siblings, he was baptized in the early 1950s at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church by the beloved Father Martin Jung. The baptism was known as the "Holley Special."
At age 12, he attended St. Joseph Grammar School, and later, St. Joseph High School, where he graduated with the class of 1966.
After high school graduation, Teet enlisted in the United States Air Force, following his older brothers, Sylvester, Jr. (U.S. Army) and Harold (U.S. Marines). He completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in
San Antonio, TX, as an enlisted airman.
His first duty station was Wiesbaden, Germany where he served as a Finance Specialist. While there, he met the love of his life, Marva Lee Jackson. They later married and had two children: Angela and Everett, Jr.
He reached the rank of Sergeant (honorably discharged) and returned with his family to
Pensacola, FL. After attending the University of West Florida and completing his Bachelor's degree in History, he commissioned into the U.S. Air Force as an officer, served his time, and honorably discharged as an officer.
He later began a civil service job, and ultimately retired from the Naval Air Station of Pensacola. During retirement, he enjoyed singing in the church choir, spending time with his family, and being a devoted father and grandfather.
Everett really enjoyed building on his knowledge of history and mathematics, and loved sharing this information with anyone who would listen. He was eager to share is wisdom in personal finance, such as paying yourself first and recycling your money.
He is preceded in death by, his parents, Sylvester (Mary) Holley Sr.; his brothers, Harold Holley, Sylvester Holley, Jr., Patrick Holley, and Michael Holley; brothers-in-law, John Hoskins, Sr., and Floyd Pace.
