Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Inc. - Springfield on Dec. 5, 2025.
William Everett Jackson, 86, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born August 10, 1939 in Kosciusko, Mississippi, son of Etson E. Jackson and Lois Jackson Newman. He was raised in Kosciusko, Mississippi, until the age of 7, when he moved with his dad to Springfield to start a paving business that later became Master's Jackson Paving Company. His mother and sister would later move to Springfield, making Missouri their home.

On January 15, 1981, he married Norma, and they resided in Rogersville, Missouri. Everett ran his own paving business and worked for Roadway Express, where he retired as a proud Teamster. After retirement, they moved to the Table Rock Lake area and traveled in their RV for vacations. In 2011, they returned to Springfield to be closer to family. They are active members of Schweitzer Church.

Everett has been a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine since he was 18. This has been a significant part of his life, and he has served in various charities. He was named "Greeter of the Year" in 1984. Most recently, he was president of the '65 White Mustang Club, where he proudly drove his 1965 Ford Mustang convertible in local parades. Everett was a member of the Springfield Crescent Chapter #21 of the Eastern Star. He was especially proud to support his late mother in her highest duty as the World's Most Worthy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star.

Everett has also been a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge for many years. He was awarded "Elk of the Year" in 1993 and 2005 and received the "Lifetime Membership" from the Kimberling City Elks Lodge #2505 for his charitable service. He was also named the "Elks Hoop Shoot Director of the Year", recognized for his outstanding charity work on behalf of Stone County youth.

His is preceded in death by his father, Etson E. Jackson, and his mother, Lois J. Newman, a step-father Gordon P. Newman; sister F. Jeanette Rucker and her husband Ronald R. Rucker; an aunt Wilma Duffin and her husband George Duffin; an aunt Clara Galaway and her husband Phillip Galaway; an aunt Margaret Ann Kimbrell; paternal grandparents James Jackson and Florence (Whitten) Jackson; maternal grandparents William Kimbrell and Alice (Hogg) Kimbrell.

He is survived by his loving wife and partner of over 50 years, Norma Jackson; a daughter Lori Harmon and her husband Joe Harmon; and granddaughters, Victoria Dillon and her husband, Brock Dillon, and Katelyn Harmon.
