Franklin – Everett Columbus Williams, Jr., 89, passed away February 12, 2026 in his home. Born and raised in Isle of Wight County, he was a son of the late Everett Columbus Williams, Sr. and Naomi Brock Williams. He was also predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Griffin Williams and two sisters, Pauline Williams Manson and Francis Williams Latimer.

Everett was a graduate of Carrsville High School and VPI where he was a member of The Corps of Cadets. He was a Major in the US Air Force where he was a pilot. Everett was also a retired mechanical engineer for Ford Tractor Co. and after retirement he worked as a consultant for Blue Bird Bus Company in Macon, GA. He was also a farmer and flying instructor.

He was a member of Boykins-Courtland Masonic Lodge, Hunterdale Ruritan Club, Experimental Aviation Association (EAA), and had served on the SPSA Board. Everett was a member of Franklin Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Even though Everett had no children of his own, he was thought of as a father and grandfather by his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. His nieces and nephews are Valerie Umphlett, Parker Darden, Richard Darden, Barry Manson, and Jennie Hodge. He he also survived by a special friend, Jackie Arrington.

Special gratitude is extended to his devoted caregivers, Ruby Ricks, Carolyn Williams, Rita Darden, Dorothy Rawlings, and Queen Powell.

A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held at 11AM Saturday, February 14, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Charles Qualls and Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or any favorite charity.
