F. Noreen Hoffman

Noreen Hoffman, 85, of Creston, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Creston Specialty Care in Creston. Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday January 26, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Mary O'Riley will officiate the service. Burial will be held privately at Graceland Cemetery. Open visitation will be from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday with her family greeting friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. On line condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com. Frances Noreen Hoffman, daughter of Edith Laverne (Feeback) and Edward D. Spurr was born March 13, 1930 in Creston, Iowa. Noreen graduated from Creston High School in 1948. On August 26, 1956, Noreen was united in marriage to Robert Burton Hoffman in Creston, Ia. They settled in the Creston area where she worked as a clerk for Seckington's True Value for 35 years, retiring in 2001. Noreen was a member of the Creston First United Methodist Church. Noreen is survived by her two daughters, Tracy (husband Tom) Marquart of Creston and Deborah (husband Tom) Benders of Lenox, Ia.; a son, Mark (wife Lori) Hoffman of Lenox, Ia.; two sisters, Joyce (husband Parnell) Proctor of Cedar Rapids and Mary Jo Hardman of Silver Lake, Kan.; two brothers, Don Spurr of Sacramento, Calif. and Ron (wife Jan) Spurr of Creston; sister-in-law, Sue Spurr of Longmont, Colo.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Noreen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob in 2008, sisters, Ruby (husband Ken) Welcher and Doris Johnson, brothers, Charles, Ken (wife Phyllis) and Floyd and sister-in-law Carole Spurr.
