Fabiola Rodas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Waterford on Jan. 13, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Fabiola Rodas With profound love and gratitude, we honor the life of Fabiola Rodas, an extraordinary woman who brightened the world with her eternal smile. Born in Zamora, Michoacán, Mexico, Fabiola was the youngest and the pride of a large family of 16 children, born to Jesús López and Ramona Barrera.
In 1993, in California, she united her life with Mario Rodas, forming a home built on unwavering loyalty. Fabiola was the absolute definition of a devoted wife, standing by Mario through every "thick and thin." Together, they were the engine that pushed their family forward, ensuring they never fell and always reached for a better future. Her character and devotion earned her the deep love of every relative on both sides of the family.
As the mother of Magaly, Andrea, and Diego, Fabiola took great pride in being an "amazing 'bad' mother." She believed that a mother who sets firm rules out of love is the one who truly cares, and her discipline was the shield that kept them on the right path. Her love was not permissive, but protective, courageous, and always focused on guiding her children toward a righteous life.
Her heart beat to the rhythm of Mexico as a passionate Ballet Folklórico dancer. Her closet was a colorful treasure trove of dresses and shoes, and her kitchen was a place of tradition where she prepared her famous cheese enchiladas, menudo, pozole, flans, arroz con leche and even pho noodle soup!
Fabiola had a rare and beautiful gift: she enlightened everyone she met. She was the best friend anyone could have, a listener who understood without judgment, and a jokester who could make anyone laugh even in their darkest moments. People knew her by name and felt the warmth of her spirit instantly. She moved through life leaving an indelible mark on the memories and hearts of many; to know Fabiola was to be touched by a light that never truly fades.
As a Catechist and Lector, she lived her faith out loud, reminding us that every act of kindness was a "tabiquito ganado" (an earned brick) for her house in heaven. We take comfort in knowing she is now in that home, dancing in her most vibrant colors. She has departed as she always lived: "Con Dios y La Virgin" (With God and the Virgin Mary).
Rest in peace, Fabiola. Your light, your loyalty, and your dance will live forever in our hearts.
A visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 5391 Highland Road, Waterford, Michigan, 48327, on Friday, January 16, from 3-7pm.
