On 9/11/02 it was my privilege to read a block of names at the official memorial site in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Faina Rapoport was the first name that I read. I remember wanting to make sure that I said it properly. I think of her, that beautiful name and you, her family, often. The memorial is not far from my home and each time I go there I make sure to stop at her name, touch the etching and say a prayer. I say her name in my head with sadness and reverence. As we approach the anniversary tomorrow please know that she, nor any of the beautiful souls who were lost, is ever forgotten. Forever in my heart. Peace, love and God’s blessings to you all.

As I stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

Dear Lenachka,

I wish you love, peace, happiness and strength. You are a great friend, and I hope that you will be able to find strength, patience and look ahead to the future. You are a very intelligent and bright young woman, and you will succeed in life. I wish you all the best. Love, Katya :)

St. Pius X High School in Houston, TX printed over 3000 hospital-type wrist bands, each with the names of one of the victims. I am wearing your mother's band.

My father, too, was an immigrant and was proud to be an American, as was your mother.

Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers on 9/11.

Dear Alex,

It has been six months since your mother passed away. Please accept my condolences.

We have been really close when you used to work here with me by my side. It made me feel really sad and pretty shaken up when i saw your mom's picture. It felt even more worse, because it was your mom. I did get to meet her once and she seemed very dear and nice. We used to talk about different things in life, but the subject of loosing someone so dear and close to you never came up. I missed having you around. I hope that you are doing ok, if you need any help or just someone to talk to like i did, when i needed someone, and it was you, please, Alex call me.

Everybody in AIG Reinsurance Dept. sends their condolences!

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
