Obituary published on Legacy.com by Small’s Mortuary - Mobile from Oct. 28 to Oct. 30, 2025.
Faith Mixon was born on Tuesday, February 11, 1986, at 5:52 a.m. at USA
Medical Center in
Mobile, Alabama, to Judge and Jennifer Mixon, Jr.
From an early age, Faith's life reflected her name. She accepted Christ at a
young age and was baptized. She grew up attending Nazaree Full Gospel
Church under Bishop Joseph D. Phillips, where she sang in the choir, served
on the junior usher board, and was a proud member of the step team. Later,
she attended Bethesda Christian Center under Pastor Roger Stanton, where
she sang on the praise team and served in youth ministry.
Faith's education began at Whitley Elementary School, where she was proud
to be a Whale. She continued at K. J. Clark Middle School from 5th through
8th grade, and later graduated from "the school that spirit built," C. F. Vigor
High School. At Vigor, she truly shined. She served as co-captain of the JV
cheerleading squad, sang in the Gospel Choir under Don Gardner, was class
president, a member of the Alpha Omega Christian Club, and graduated as
the Salutatorian of the Class of 2004.
Her commitment to service extended beyond her career. She was a
Charter Member of the Golden Standard Lambda Eta Sigma
Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., chartered on
September 11, 2010, and she served in various leadership roles
within the Shelby County, Alabama, NPHC.
After receiving multiple scholarship offers, Faith chose to attend the
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) on a full scholarship. While in
Birmingham, she found her church home at Faith Chapel under Pastor
Micheal D. Moore, where she sang on the praise team. During her time at
UAB, she was inducted into the X-Hilarating Xi Mu Chapter of Sigma
Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Spring 2006, where she was the Ace of her line,
the Eight Illustrious Impressions of SIGMA. Faith also served as Basileus,
Anti-Basileus, and Chaplain of her chapter, and as President of the National
Pan-Hellenic Council. She was a UAB Ambassador and sang in the Gospel
Choir under Kevin P. Turner.
Faith's greatest joy in life was being a mother. Every decision she made was
centered around her sons, William David Boone II and Jeremiah Daniel Boone.
While she earned many awards and accomplishments throughout her life, she
always considered her children to be her greatest achievement and the true
legacy of her love.
Faith was preceded in death by her grandparents, Judge and Lucille Mixon, Sr.,
and Arthur Jordan, Sr. and Tencie Lee Jordan; her uncles Clifford Junior Mixon,
Arthur Jordan, Jr., Sammie Lee Jordan, Bennie Carl Jordan, and Larry James
Jordan; and her aunts Deborah Ann Patrick and Daisy Ruth Jordan-Woods.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents, Judge and Jennifer
Mixon, Jr.; her two beloved sons, William David Boone II and Jeremiah Daniel
Boone; her loving sister and caregiver, Miracle Michelle Mixon; her devoted
uncle, Curtis Tyrone Jordan; and Jacquelyn "Gaga" Melette, who held a
special place in Faith's heart. She is also survived by nieces and nephews,
cousins, god-sisters and brothers, classmates, Sorority Sisters, colleagues,
and many other relatives and friends who were blessed by her life.
Faith will be remembered for her brilliance, her service, her devotion to
family, and her unshakable faith. Though her time on earth was too brief,
her light will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to William's dear
friends, Chase Johnson and Cochise, for being such loyal and
supportive companions to him during this time.
