Faith Allen Walters of
Whittier, North Carolina passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2023.
Faith was born on April 15th, 1935 in
Kinston, North Carolina, the oldest of two daughters born to Frederick S. Allen and Florence R. Allen. She graduated from Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1953. Faith married Dale Frederick soon after graduation and they were married for eighteen years residing in
Kettering, Ohio. They had one daughter, Christine Lynne, who was born in 1961. After a few years of ups and downs, she found the love of her life, Robert Walters, in
St. Petersburg, Florida. Faith and Bob were married on January 26th, 1980. Together they ran a business in St. Petersburg for many years while Faith was also in the payroll department at Southeast Bank. Upon retirement they moved to
Brevard, North Carolina and happily lived in Connestee Falls for 27 years where she was an avid Bridge player, rubber stamper, and in the fishing club. After Bob passed away in 2018, Faith returned to the Dayton, Ohio area to be near family. She resided at Trinity of Miami Township where she made many wonderful friends. When her daughter and son-in-law retired in 2022, they decided to take Faith back to the mountains of North Carolina where she had many great memories and a sense of peace. There she lived in a mountain house with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
Faith was an avid reader and she loved all types of crafting. She did a lot of crocheting and loom knitting, making hats for cancer patients, baby hats and blankets, which she donated to the local hospital. She organized some craft classes, including Diamond Dotz, at Trinity when she lived there.
Faith had a deep devotion to her religion and love of God. Her favorite music was hymns. She was a long time member of Eastern Star, Dayton-Victory Chapter #594. She was an animal lover through and through, never failing to have a treat in her pocket for the pets around her. She usually had a dog in her life, particularly remembering Missy I and Missy II.
Faith was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Walters; her parents, Fred and Florence Allen; her sister, Prudi Allen; and former spouse and friend, Dale Frederick.
Faith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Tom Reilly; her stepchildren, Donna (Ron) Kozberg; Pam (Ken) Karmeris, and Robert B. Walters. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Colleen Wiseman, Elisabeth Reilly, Mariel Kozberg, Sean Dinneen, Kendra Banks, Christopher Karmeris, Robert M. Walters, Kelly Pace, Steven Walters, and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held in Dayton, Ohio and inurnment will be at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in
St. Petersburg, Florida.
