Fannie Edwards Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cease Family Funeral Home - Blackduck on Jan. 4, 2026.
Fannie Mae (Gingerich) (Byler) Edwards was born May 25, 1933, to Joe and Clara Gingerich near Kalona, IA, and passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long period of declining health on January 3, 2026, at the age of 92.
In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour. In 1957, she moved from Kalona, IA to northern MN, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of the Kitchi Pines Church near Pennington, MN. She loved quilting and scrapbooking and hosted many people throughout the years. She also had a love for traveling and documented those trips in many scrapbooks.
On August 3, 1952, she was united in marriage to Vernon Byler. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1984. She later married Ron Edwards on May 14, 1988.
She is survived by her second husband and three children: Nolan and Clara Byler of Mt. Eaton, OH; Dawson and Hope Byler of Pennington, MN; John and Jewell Zimmerman of Turbotville, PA; as well as daughter-in-law, Miriam (Schrader) (Byler) Schrock of Littlefork, MN; son-in-law, Val Yoder of Pennington, MN; 27 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by two children: Clovis (Miriam) Byler and Krystal (Val) Yoder; and four grandchildren: Brendan Yoder, Kayla Yoder, Kenton Byler, and Jordan Zimmerman.
We, as a family, express our sincere appreciation to all those who helped in any way through this time of sorrow. Special thanks to the staff at Good Samaritan Society, Blackduck, MN, for their good care of our mother the last several years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck, MN.
