Fanny Ann Byer, 88, of Maryville, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

She was born August 30, 1937, in Hammond, LA, to the late Pete and Josephine (nee Nuccio) LaMonte. Fanny married William Allen Byer on July 4, 1960, and he preceded her in death.

Fanny was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and painting, and found great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Fanny was a faithful member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings: Santa Rose, Joe, Louie, Tony Mike, Johnnie, and Mary.

She is survived by her six children: Cathy Byer, Tom (Stephanie) Byer, Mike (Susie) Byer, Scott (Edie) Byer, Dan Byer, and Heather Byer; eight grandchildren: Brett, Eric, Alyx, Sami, Hannah, Andy, Abby, and Scarlett; four great-grandchildren: Zeke, Havi, Lena, and Urijah; a brother, Sam LaMonte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, with Father Rob Johnson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Parish Center at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
