Faye Carol Argenbright Cook

Faye Carol Argenbright Cook, 82, was called home to Glory on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from Augusta Health Hospital.
Faye was born to Clyde Augusta and Sarah Phillips Argenbright on August 25, 1941. She was the third from the oldest of 12 children. During her teenage years she was part of a group who twirled batons while on roller skates. She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1958. Once married, Faye made her home in Afton, VA. She worked at Morton's Frozen Foods for many years; which became Del Monte and then ConAgra. She moved to Waynesboro, VA to be closer to her family and worked at The Hershey Company in Stuarts Draft until her retirement. Faye enjoyed traveling with her friends and family as often as she could. She loved reading, scrapbooking, stamping and making porcelain figures.
Faye was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Afton, VA where she raised her children. She was very involved with teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She helped organize and participate in Friends' Day each month to honor and spend time with other seniors.
Faye's love for her family and friends could be seen in the many cards and calls she would receive for her birthday and other special events in her life.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her son, Randal "Phil "more Cook and sisters, Patricia Pannell, Barbara Hensley, Bonnie Maxwell, Mary Carr.
She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Cook Brunk and her husband Daryl of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Amber Brunk and Sophia Brunk, of Waynesboro; one sister, Marge Lambert (Gene) of Stuarts Draft; six brothers – Robert Argenbright (Ann) of Waynesboro, Harold Argenbright (Debbie) of Mount Solon, Garry Argenbright (Janet) of Lyndhurst, Barry Argenbright (Evelyn) of Waynesboro, Clyde (Bill) Argenbright (Anita) of New Hope, Sam Argenbright (Nancy) of Mint Spring. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves a lifelong best friend, Barbara Gray, whose family treated her as one of their own, and a dear friend, Penny Carpenter.
Faye's family will accept visitors Monday, November 27, 2023, at McDow Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Hebron Baptist Church at 2pm with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Argenbright, Ryan Argenbright, Donald Campbell, Casey Carter, Bryan Gray, Lance Gray, and Aaron Gray.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Waynesboro First Aid Crew.
