June 14, 1947 - January 2, 2026
Faye Daniel Davis, 78, of Altavista died Friday, January 2, 2026 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1947 in Brookneal, a daughter of the late Aubrey William Daniel and Dorothy Frances McDaniel Clowdis. Faye was a homemaker, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lynchburg for many years, and in Gretna more recently, and had a deep love for her family.
She is survived by two sons, Greg Davis and his wife, Lori of Brookneal and Mike Davis and his wife, Romonda of Altavista ; one daughter, Holly Johnson and her husband, Brian of Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister, Kathy Wingfield and her husband, Charles of Mechanicsville; a sister-in-law, Anne Daniel of Herndon; nine grandchildren, Courtney Dawson (Brent), Zachary Davis (LeeAnn), Whitney Cody (Jacob), Morgan Worley (Jeremiah), Darin Fitzgerald, Nick Davis, Alyssa Butler (Neil), Hannah Johnson, and Danielle Johnson; ten great grandchildren, Ava, Raymond, Rowan, Ella, Alana, Maggie, Maverick, Juniper, Warren, and Bery; her niece, Jennifer; nephews, Kevin, Chuck and Jonathan. Faye's children would also like to thank Carolyn Littles and Jessica East of Autumn Care for the loving service they provided in her final years.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Aubrey Daniel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., January 9, 2026 at Hat Creek Presbyterian Church by President John Ansted with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 604 Vaden Dr., Gretna, VA 24557.
